RFID Technology is Applied to Low-carbon Intelligent Transportation for the Benefit of Mankind

In the past 100 years (l906-2005), the average global surface temperature has increased by 0.74 degrees Celsius. In the next 20 years, the global temperature will increase by 0.2 degrees Celsius every decade. Climate warming has become a problem that can not be ignored and has a direct impact on global production and life.

Some countries and regions have begun to study the Countermeasures of low-carbon transportation, such as refining the classified management of vehicles with different emission standards, using scientific and technological means and tax system to control carbon emissions, etc. For example, countries and regions such as Britain, Sweden, Germany, Italy and Norway in Europe, Singapore, Tokyo, Taiwan and Hong Kong in Asia, and Australia have established low-carbon transportation areas, low emission areas, green transportation areas and clean demonstration areas to ensure regional air quality and encourage the use of clean vehicles.

RFID technology is an automatic identification technology originated in the 1950s. RFID technology has broad application prospects. Intelligent transportation, logistics and storage, retail, manufacturing, medical and other fields are the application fields of RFID.

Developing low-carbon transportation is the general trend. Using RFID technology and developing electronic environmental protection sign system to carry out classified control and management of vehicles according to different emission standards, and setting up low-carbon transportation areas on this basis is an inevitable choice under the current domestic "perception of China" environment.

Through the construction of low-carbon traffic areas, an urban traffic pattern of "no passage of high pollution yellow standard vehicles, limited or toll passage of ordinary emission vehicles and free passage of zero emission vehicles" will be formed in the city, which will promote the elimination of high pollution vehicles and encourage the use of low-carbon emission new energy vehicles such as hybrid electric vehicles, especially pure electric vehicles with zero carbon emission, and effectively resolve the problem of urban congestion, Truly achieve the goal of low-carbon transportation, energy conservation and emission reduction and improve air quality.

By establishing low-carbon transportation and tourism areas and low emission demonstration areas, we can basically eliminate vehicle emission pollutants in a certain area and improve the level of urban ambient air quality, especially the air quality around the road. The demonstration project can encourage more citizens to buy and use new energy vehicles and low emission vehicles, reduce the harm caused by exhaust pollution and protect the ecological environment.

The low-carbon traffic area system is mainly composed of environmental protection electronic signs, vehicle perception base stations, environmental monitoring base stations and supervision and control platforms.

Electronic environmental protection signs. 900mrfid electronic mark is adopted, which contains vehicle information such as license plate number, vehicle model number and emission standard, and has a unique identification code to replace the original conventional paper environmental protection mark, and forms a unique corresponding relationship with the vehicle.

Vehicle aware base station. Double base identification technology (i.e. Video + radio frequency) is adopted. Through radio frequency identification, non-contact automatic identification of electronic labels can be realized, and electronic signs on high-speed vehicles (180km / h) can be detected, read and written from a long distance (up to about 15m); License plate recognition, photographing and forensics are realized through video recognition, which can match with the results of RFID.

Environmental monitoring base station. It is built on both sides of the road, which can detect and warn the motor vehicle pollution of the urban road network in real time.

Regulatory control platform. It is the brain of the low-carbon traffic area system, responsible for intelligent analysis of the transmitted identification information and environmental information, and cooperating with the environmental protection and public security business processing platform to realize the analysis and processing of regulatory business in low-carbon traffic areas.

The application of RFID in low-carbon transportation construction includes the following parts:

1. Apply it to the construction of green intelligent transportation system to achieve a win-win situation in blocking and pollution control

Congestion and pollution coexist. The more congestion, the more serious pollution and the greater harm to people.

Under normal circumstances, the exhaust emission of vehicles running at the speed of 20km / h is more than twice that of 40km / h. Take the electronic environmental protection sign as the carrier, use the Internet of things technology to establish an intelligent transportation system, collect, organize and analyze the comprehensive traffic information, and carry out traffic regulation according to the road congestion, so as to make the traffic flow on the road network operate in the best state, so as to improve the traffic congestion and reduce the motor vehicle pollution. It is estimated that it can reduce motor vehicle pollutant emissions by 15% - 20%.

2. Applied to bus priority system

Electronic environmental protection labels can meet the needs of automatic signal acquisition and serve the development of public transport, adhering to the strategy of public transport priority, and the construction of public transport dedicated roads and public transport priority signal system. By improving the speed of public transport, a bus rapid transit system is formed, so as to improve the travel rate of public transport, reduce the travel proportion of private cars and reduce exhaust emissions.

3. It is applied to the traffic restriction law enforcement of high pollution yellow standard vehicles and non-standard vehicles

High pollution yellow standard vehicles refer to motor vehicles whose emission standards fail to meet national I. non standard vehicles refer to vehicles that fail to pass the annual environmental protection inspection or fail to pass the annual environmental protection inspection and cannot receive the environmental protection mark. Although yellow standard vehicles and non-standard vehicles account for only 10% - 15% of the total number of urban motor vehicles, the pollutants discharged by motor vehicles account for 50% of the total. The regional traffic restriction system established by using electronic environmental protection signs and Internet of things technology can realize the networking of motor vehicle information system, environmental protection supervision system and road traffic system, so as to realize the uniqueness of vehicle sign identification and judgment, and improve the accuracy and efficiency of traffic restriction management.

4. Traffic control applied to vehicles with different emission standards

Try out the congestion charging policy and establish low-carbon transportation areas. That is, on the basis of setting traffic restriction areas for yellow standard vehicles and non-standard vehicles, establish low-carbon traffic areas that only allow free passage of new energy vehicles, pure electric vehicles and vehicles above national V, and vehicles from other countries I to IV will be charged according to different emission levels.

5. It is applied to the environmental protection verification of vehicle licensing, annual inspection and road inspection

The use of electronic environmental protection signs can effectively realize the online audit control of vehicle licensing management, environmental protection writing and public security reading, and ensure that 100% of licensed vehicles meet the environmental protection standard; It can effectively prevent cheating in annual exhaust inspection and vehicle change detection; It can realize the functions of road inspection and law enforcement personnel holding mobile law enforcement terminals, remotely querying vehicle information, and investigating and dealing with yellow marked vehicles, unmarked vehicles, vehicles with invalid signs, forged and altered marked vehicles on site.

6. It is applied to the intelligent monitoring and on-line regulation system of traffic pollution

Establish a monitoring system for ambient air and motor vehicle pollution on both sides of the road, detect and warn the motor vehicle pollution status of the urban road network in real time, and implement intelligent regulation and control of vehicle traffic by using electronic environmental protection sign information in combination with the intelligent transportation system.

7. Guarantee applied to the national joint prevention and control mechanism of motor vehicle pollution

The existing paper signs completely rely on manual law enforcement, which is stopped by the public security traffic police and inspected by the environmental protection personnel. The law enforcement cost is high, the efficiency is low and the implementation is difficult. The electronic environmental protection sign system with unified national standards and contents is established. The road inspection and law enforcement personnel are equipped with relevant reading and writing instruments or handheld PDA (environmental protection link and police link), which can realize the mutual recognition of signs among cities and truly achieve the purpose of joint prevention and control.

8. Information sharing applied to other government departments

Through the development of information integration platforms for environmental protection, public security, transportation, urban construction and other departments, we can realize the rapid sharing of electronic sign information and realize the urban comprehensive management of vehicles, such as traffic compulsory insurance, automatic charging and counting.
